Birmingham Local Election results to be looked at by the Courts

Birmingham Liberal Democrats have lodged a High Court challenge over the Local Election result in Aston Ward where former Councillor Ayoub Khan narrowly lost his seat and there is strong evidence of postal vote fraud. There is also a possibility that there will also be a High Court challenge over the Bordesley Green result too.
If either challenge is successful there will have to be re-runs of the election, so the Local Elections may well be not over yet. Labour would be defending all the seats concerned and could well lost even more to the Liberal Democrats than they have already.
This year's elections across the City were marred with intimidation, postal staff being threatened, people trying to buy votes, candidates being found with large numbers of ballot papers and a post box being set alight.
