Paul Marsden MP with the media
Nicola Davies' growing campaign team will be swelled today by former members of the Labour Party. Nicola will be joined on the campaign trail by Paul Marsden MP, Cllr Talib Hussain, Les Byron and other former Labour members.
Paul Marsden MP said: "More and more Labour supporters in Hodge Hill are switching to the Liberal Democrats. It's not surprising - you only need to be here a few minutes to see how much it has been neglected by Labour. Local people have told me they are going to vote for Nicola Davies because they are fed up with Labour's failure to deliver on jobs, crime, hospitals and local schools. They know that Nicola Davies will put the interests of this area first. Local residents also told me they were shocked that Labour have imposed one of Tony Blair's former New Labour advisors as their candidate. The last thing Hodge Hill needs is another Labour yes man at Westminster."
Nicola Davies said: "Every day more and more disgruntled Labour supporters are saying enough is enough and joining the campaign. They feel badly let down by Labour on crime, on hospitals and on local schools. Local people keep telling me they think it's time for a change. They do not want another Labour MP who is just voting fodder for Tony Blair they want a Liberal Democrat MP who puts the interests of the local area first - and that's what I will do."
