Nicola Davies and Simon Hughes take up local concerns

Liberal Democrats in Hodge Hill have today begun to tackle Labour's grot spots. Nicola Davies was joined by Liberal Democrat Chief Whip Andrew Stunell and Matthew Green MP clearing weeds from footpaths in Oxford Close in Washwood Heath. Nicola Davies said "Labour have neglected this area for twenty years. I intend to work with the City Council to make this area cleaner. Many residents round here take a pride in their homes and area and they deserve better than this. Local people have been promised much by Labour but seen little. They want action not words."

Andrew Stunell MP said: "It wasn't just weeds we found - there was even a sycamore tree that had started to grow out of the drain cover. There clearly has not been a street cleaner down Oxford Close for years. This area needs a strong MP like Nicola to tackle the years of Labour neglect."
