Commenting on today's figures showing that manufacturing jobs have halved since records began in 1978, Hodge Hill's Liberal Democrat Candidate Nicola Davies said "This is yet another shocking confirmation of Labour's failure.Birmingham's economy was built on manufacturing. When you see figures like this it comes as no surprise that Hodge Hill constituency has nine percent unemployment. Labour does not even seem to care that their neglect of the manufacturing sector has led to such a decline."
