Nicola Davies and Simon Hughes MP discuss policing in Shard End

Nicola Davies will today turn the focus on the need for more visible policing in Hodge Hill Constituency. She will be joined by Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary Mark Oaten MP and Simon Hughes MP to call for extra policing.

Nicola Davies said: "It's clear from talking to local people that they feel that they do not see the Police regularly. The Labour Government should concentrate its resources on extra police officers rather than wasting billions of pounds on ID cards which won't do a thing to reduce the crime and anti-social behaviour in this area. The only thing Labour has got right in this campaign is to identify crime as an issue. However in twenty years of running the council and seven years of government they've achieved next to nothing. They have neglected hardworking local people in areas like this. Local people are rightly saying enough is enough - they want action not words".
