Charles Kennedy and Nicola Davies and her campaign team
Liberal Democrat Leader Charles Kennedy MP has joined Nicola Davies on the campaign trail for the third time. Charles Kennedy and Nicola Davies visited a number of local businesses and met with members of the public. Nicola Davies said: "I am delighted Charles came back to boost the campaign again. I am determined to get to grips with the problems this area has and tackle the years of neglect by Labour. Another visit from Charles is timely as it's clear that local people are increasingly swinging their support behind us.
After the visit Charles said "I had local people stopping me in the street to tell me they would be voting for Nicola this time. Having a bright young woman leading the campaign to end Labour's record of neglect in Birmingham has added impetus to this campaign. Her message that local people have a right to expect better seems to be finding a real resonance with local people."
Mr. Kennedy further said "This campaign puts me strongly in mind of Sarah Teather's campaign in Brent East. There is a similar feeling that it is time for a change and that people who have supported other parties in the past are now coalescing behind Nicola. I am confident that whatever the result on Thursday there will be a significant number of votes cast for the Liberal Democrats. Mr Blair would be foolish in the extreme to ignore what people are saying to him and his government."
