Axe Council Tax!

Hodge Hill Liberal Democrats have renewed their calls for Council Tax to be axed. Nicola Davies said "The Council Tax is not based on ability to pay, but simply on property valuations made over 10 years ago. It's expensive to administer and discriminates unfairly against those on lower incomes - especially pensioners."Councillor Tariq Khan said "Council Tax is an unfair tax, based simply on outdated valuations of property and with no link to ability to pay. It should be scrapped and replaced with a system based on people's ability to pay."

Hodge Hill Liberal Democrats have launched a petition on the website - on the navigation menu which everyone is encouraged to sign. They have also provided a link to a Local Income Tax Calculator so you can see how much you would pay under the Liberal Democrat proposal, also on the navigation menu.
