Councillor Tariq Khan asks where were Labour for the last 20 years

Following Monday's article in the Evening Mail, Birmingham Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Councillor Tariq Khan (Washwood Heath Ward) has criticised the neglect of streets, dirt, graffiti and rubbish by previous Labour administration of Birmingham City Council.

Councillor Tariq Khan said "Here we have a new MP and Councillors saying they will make Hodge Hill Constituency a cleaner place to live in. My Question to them is where were they for the last 20 years when Birmingham City Council was being run by Labour? They have made false promises before and that is one of the reasons why the public have lost confidence in the Labour Party. The neglect of the City has been reflected in the recent Council elections where the Liberal Democrats gained seats at Labour's expense and why it is the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives running Birmingham and not Labour."

Councillor Khan also added "We now have an administration that will try it's very best to have an effective approach to street cleaning and make sure that we do a much better job than the one done by Labour."
