Liberal Democrats beating Labour - latest poll

Today's News of the World/Populas Poll has shown that the Liberal Democrats have moved into second place. The Liberal Democrats have gained an additional 7% in the last week to overtake Labour and are just 3% behind the Conservatives. The Poll puts the Liberal Democrats on 29%, the Conservatives on 32% and Labour in third on 28%.
This poll boost comes just days before the key Hartlepool by-election this Thursday. Labour have slumped 14% since the 2001 General Election and the news is not any better for the Conservatives who have been flatlining at around 32% since 1993!
