Demolish Birmingham's 'eyesores'

Two Labour MP's Sion Simon (Erdington) and Khalid Mahmood (Perry Barr) have called on ministers to give councils more powers to knock down "monstrous" buildings. The quoted the Queens Head in Erdington as Birmingham's worst eyesore.

Deputy Liberal Democrat Leader, Councillor Tariq Khan said "The Liberal Democrats fully support this campaign to allow local councils to demolish 'eyesores'. The Liberal Democrats highlighted a number of 'eyesores' across the Hodge Hill constituency earlier this year during the by-elections. One has to wonder why Hodge Hill's Labour MP has not supported his colleagues in their call to demolish these 'eyesores'."
