Washwood Heath Post Office is one of three Post Offices which have been granted a stay of execution. The Post Office bosses have bowed to pressure from Liberal Democrat Councillors, members of the public and Postwatch (the consumer watchdog). The closure has been placed on hold whilst the Post Office continues to consider its future.
Washwood Heath Councillor, Tariq Khan said "It is great news that the Washwood Heath Road Post Office has been granted a stay, however there is still much work to be done to ensure it stays open. The Liberal Democrats will continue to fight to save this and other Post Offices from closure."
Nicola Davies said "Post Offices are a vital service to the local community and I will be working with Councillor Tariq Khan and Birmingham Liberal Democrat Leader Councillor John Hemming to try and save this, and other, Post Offices from closure."
