Nicola Davies and Simon Hughes discuss policing in Shard End
It is reported that a group of Birmingham's Labour MPs have met with Hazel Blears and asked for more police officers. The Liberal Democrats have consistently being calling for more bobbies on the beat - and indeed Hodge Hill Liberal Democrats ran a petition earlier in the year. Nicola Davies said "Whilst I would obviously welcome any additional police one wonders if this is just an electoral ploy by the Labour MPs who's seats are become increasingly less safe. The Liberal Democrats have been calling for more police for years, it would appear Birmingham's Labour MPs have only just woken up to the crime and policing problems facing Birmingham."
