Save our school buses campaign
The Liberal Democrats recently tried to amended the Government's School Transport Bill. The Bill will, for the first time, introduce measures to charge children for using school buses on trips over 3 miles. The Liberal Democrats have consistently opposed this and attempted to amend the Bill, to prohibit these charges. Birmingham Hodge Hill's Labour MP Liam Byrne voted to introduce the charges
Nicola Davies said "I am appalled that Liam Byrne voted against stopping charges for school buses. Labour's new school bus charges will apply to all children currently not eligible for free school meals and could cost parents over £212 million nationally. This is yet another example of our local MP's letting us down, as they have so often in the past."
