The Birmingham Labour group is lurching from one crisis to another. Six Labour Councillors are currently in subject to a High Court case which may result in their election being overturned, a seventh Councillor - Councillor Jepson has announced his resignation and according to today's Evening Mail Councillor Margaret Wells is being asked to resign by Labour Group on the Council.
Councillor Wells (Stockland Green) has moved to Northumberland and has failed to attend any ward meetings since being elected in June 2004. According to the Evening Mail article Labour Party bosses have suggested that if she does not resign next week they will considering expelling Councillor Wells from the Labour Party.
