This morning the Liberal Democrats have discussed the future of Europe at their Conference. This was the first time the Party has had an opportunity to discuss Europe since the failed referendums on the European Constitutions in France and the Netherlands.
The Liberal Democrats reaffirmed their belief that any proposals which involve significant change in the relationship between the EU, Member States and the citizens should be approved by a referendum. The Liberal Democrats also called for the abolition of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and a strengthening of action on anti-terrorism, law enforcement and asylum and immigration policies.
