Commenting on a cross-party motion tabled in the House of Commons effectively calling for an Parliamentary inquiry into the Prime Minister's conduct over Iraq, Sir Menzies Campbell MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary, said "The House of Commons is entitled to hold ministers to account for the decision to go to war and the failure to have proper plans for its aftermath."
Sir Menzies further said "The financial, military and diplomatic consequences for the United Kingdom have been immense. So far we have had to rely on a variety of leaked documents but parliament and the public have the right to a full account of the workings of government both before and after the decision to invade."
