Solihull MP and Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Small Business Lorely Burt has successfully moved a deregulation motion at Conference. The motion calls for the reforms that are needed so government departments actively pursue a deregulation agenda and allow small businesses to flourish in the UK.
Mrs. Burt told the conference that business should not receive conflicting advice from government agencies and that the inspection process should be streamlined to ensure it is less invasive and disruptive. In addition she called for business rate structure reform to encourage the growth of small and emerging businesses. The motion was passed overwhelmingly.
