For the first time, Birmingham is playing host to the Liberal Democrats' Spring Conference. Lib Dems from across the country are gathering in Birmingham to discuss and debate issues including manufacturing, climate change and a cleaner and fairer political system.
In welcoming the conference to the ICC before the general election, John Hemming, MP for Birmingham Yardley, said: "I was pleased to have been elected the first Liberal or Lib Dem MP for the city since Wallace Lawler won the Ladywood by-election in 1969. The Liberal Democrats are now the challengers against Labour in five of the ten city parliamentary seats."
All the latest speeches and motions will be available online at www.libdems.org.uk/Conference_News.aspx as they happen throughout the weekend with full text, videos and photos. You can also take part online, whether it be through Twitter with discussion via the #LDConf hashtag or through Nick Clegg's online leader's Q & A session on Saturday 13 March (see link below).
