"We're committed to providing a new and improved service for residents and we're encouraging local people to let us know what they would like to see in the future," said Moseley & Kings Heath Councillor Martin Mullaney.
The Sparkhill Pool and Fitness Centre development is a priority in Birmingham City Council's Pool Strategy and a public consultation in the proposed development has now been launched. Members of the public are being encouraged to contribute views and ideas for the future development of the Sparkhill Pool and Fitness Centre. A special survey is now on the City Council's website at www.birmingham.gov.uk/hallgreen until the end of the month.
Cllr Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Culture & Sport and Vice Chair of the Hall Green Constituency, said: "We're committed to providing a new and improved service for residents and we're encouraging local people to let us know what they would like to see in the future."
A series of focus group meetings are being held with different user groups including the Friends of the Sparkhill Pool, local schools, youth groups, specialist sports groups and the frail and elderly.
Cllr Jerry Evans, Chair of the Hall Green Constituency, added: "We want to make sure we give local residents the opportunity to shape the future of this important local facility. This is a community with considerable health needs."
