Colin Green - Edgbaston Campaigner

Colin Green is the lead Liberal Democrat campaigner in Edgbaston. He has lived locally in Quinton for over 10 years. If there is something you wish to speak to him about in the local area, you can contact him at edgbastonlibdems@gmail.com

One of the most common problems reported in our recent Resident's Survey was the state of cleanliness of our stree name plate signs. Colin has requested that several specific signs be cleaned by the council but without any results. We take a pride in our built environment and want to help make it a better place to live.

    • Lib Dem successes in Birmingham
The Liberal Democrats have been part of the coalition that has run Birmingham for the last eight years. During that time we have turned around the City. There has been a big Liberal influence on the council's achievements. This is shown in our top six successes. Council Tax Labour put council tax up by almost [...]

    • Why is the £10,000 tax threshold so important?
It was one of our big 4 policies at the last election. It was on the front page of our manifesto. Matt Chorley, The Independent on Sunday's political correspondent, described it as our best policy but why is the £10,000 income tax threshold so important? With the on-going financial problems across Europe and the rest [...]

    • Summer Road Resurfaced
Many thanks to everyone who returned my summer survey so far. Residents in Summer Road complained at the number of potholes in the road and asked if it could be resurfaced. I requested the repairs 3 weeks ago and the work was carried out this week. Many thanks to the council and to contractors Amey [...]

    • Summer Survey
Colin and Edgbaston's Lib Dems say the Birmingham City Council should be run on behalf of the city's residents, so we want to know what you think. Let us know by taking our short survey and we can make the city a better place. Click here to take our survey

    • Continuing Improvement in Council's Public Services
Seven years ago Birmingham City Council was failing. The Labour administration had let the city's public services break down. Housing and Social Services were so bad that Central Government was preparing to step in and take them over. In 2004, The Liberal Democrats formed a coalition with the Conservatives and took over the council to [...]

    • Pothole Repairs in Gillott Road
The biggest issue raised by local residents in my survey recently was the state of the local roads. Since then I've been reporting the worst roads to the council and asking for repairs. I have been told today that the string of potholes in Gillott Road have been scheduled for repair by the 4th of [...]
