Happy Diwali

8.00.00am GMT Sat 13th Nov 2004

The Liberal Democrats would like to wish all Hindus, Sikhs and Jaines a happy Diwali. Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights (the occasion is also celebrated by Sikhs and Hindus). The festival of Diwali extends over five days and celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.

Nicola Davies said "Diwali is a special time for Hindus with it being akin to New Year, I hope everyone enjoys the festivities."
