Happy New Year one and all! May it be a good year for you and your loved ones.

2024 will be a big year in the world of politics, as the country prepares for a General Election; one that looks set to make significant changes to the way that our country is run.

For Brummies, this will be the first time that people are required to show identification at the polling booths. The Liberal Democrats expressed concern in 2023 about these new regulations which disproportionately affect those on lower incomes and younger people.

Those without photo ID are able to apply for a free certificate from the Electoral commission. If you are concerned about ensuring that your ID qualifies, you can check your documents with the electoral commission on their website:
